Intercessors for Cyprus:

IFC has a vision for home and church based prayer across Cyprus, linked by regular updates for prayer for Cyprus, for use in churches, housegroups and prayer groups, via an internet website (and a Greek on-line Translator facility provided on the website.)

IFC has links with the Evangelical Alliance of Cyprus and is accountable to a group of EAC member church leaders. An IFC leader attends a leaders’ weekly prayer meeting. Serious research is involved in the prayer updates. IFC has a Council of Reference including local church leaders. Main areas for regular prayer include Government and those in authority, national issues, municipalities & local areas, international issues, refugees & asylum seekers, the poor and needy, etc. Finally, prayer for the Church in Cyprus, Christ’s body in this nation, including Christian ministries.

‘...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Issachar:

Intercessors are often gifted in the prophetic: ‘....men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do—200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command;’  

(1 Chronicles 12:32).   We wish to encourage men as well as women to take up the role of intercessors. We encourage intercessors to spend time in worship and the word of God as part of their prayer group time. The Lord so often speaks to us prophetically through the Bible, the Spirit leading us into prayer through the word.

'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him...And all mankind will see God's salvation.' (Luke 3:4; 6)

Israel:

Israel is a nation which God commands us to be involved with...to bless the nation. IFC does this by praying for Israel and the other nations of the Middle East. The Lord had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.  2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.......’ (Genesis 12v1-2)

‘I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.’ (Genesis 12:3)

“The New Testament Church was conceived in the womb of prayer. After 10 days of united prayer in the upper room, ‘Everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit...’ (Acts 2:4). What happened next? They launched a church that’s still impacting the world after 2000 years. Did their prayer life diminish once the church was established? Not in the least! ‘All the believers devoted themselves....to prayer.’ (Acts 2v42).

It remained a prayer-conditioned fellowship. It was born, bathed and brought to fruition in prayer. They bequeathed us the empowering principle that nothing important and lasting happens without prayer.”

‘I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.’ (1 Timothy 2:8)

As we seek God and pray for Cyprus, ‘for such a time as this’ (Esther 4:14), we believe His end time purposes will be fulfilled here. Join us?

Regular spotlights:

We want to highlight ministries and projects around the island for prayer. If you can commend a project or ministry, then let us know. The project below is of concern to us as it has a national influence. 

Refugees & Asylum Seekers:

IFC has links with an agency for refugees & asylum seekers. These people are of all religions and none, all in need. When Holy Spirit is able to guide a project or a ministry through consistent prayer, the results are evident. The word of God guides us:

‘The community is to have the same rules for you and for the alien living among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the alien shall be the same before the Lord.’ (Numbers 15:15)

‘When an alien lives with you in your land, do not ill-treat him.The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the Lord your God. (Leviticus 19v33-34)

'Love your neighbour as yourself.' (Matt 19:19)

‘Greater love has no-one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.’  (John 15:13). ‘I tell you who hear me; love your enemies, do good to those who hate you...’ (Luke 6v27)
