INTERCESSORS  FOR  CYPRUS

MONTHLY PRAYER CHAIN. The pastors of Nicosia initiated this idea. The first Monday of each month is normally a day of prayer for Cyprus. Half hour time slots are from 6am-9pm, 30 minutes each. Everyone is invited to pray for a slot which suits them that day on their own for the half hour. Suggested topics for prayer are: 1. A just and righteous solution to the Cyprus problem. 2. Protection during the pandemic and for God to put an end to it. 3. Revival to the Church and emphasis on Evangelism.  4. Each local church to add one or two more topics that would like its members to include. Individuals: allow the Lord to lead you into other prayer]. Further details: iforcy@outlook.com

1. Preparing to pray...... The Role of the Intercessor

God fashions the heart of the intercessor, even as they are praying. We are a work in progress.

Intercession is more than prayer, even very intense prayer. Anyone may pray earnestly, but still may not be totally committed to be responsible, at any cost, for the fulfilment of the prayer. An intercessor is irrevocably responsible. There is identification with the situation or person concerned. Their need becomes his need, met at his own expense. Their suffering becomes the travail of his own heart.

The Lord Jesus ‘made intercession for the transgressors’ (Isaiah 53v12). He was ‘numbered with the transgressors’ and ‘He was wounded for (their) transgressions’ (v5). He identified with sinners, and paid the debt they owed. ‘.....he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. (Hebrews 2v17-18).

Because the wages of sin is death, he had to embrace death for us. Raised to life, he intercedes for us now. ‘Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.’ (Romans 8v34) ‘Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.’ (Hebrews 7v25)

Moses, Jeremiah and other prophets identified closely with the nation of Israel, as did Esther, putting her own life on the line. However, for the most part, there were few such people.

‘He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor.’ (Isaiah 59v16)

‘I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so that I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.’ (Ezekiel 22v30)

In this dispensation, the Holy Spirit is the true Intercessor:

‘In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.’ (Romans 8v26-27)

However, He has limited Himself to exercising this ministry through redeemed men and women - we are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6v19). However, He would be quenched by tension or conflict between His will and ours. We are to be a living sacrifice (Romans 12v1), (2 Cor 4v11-12).

The Spirit and the human channel become increasingly identified together as they jointly identify with the one for whom intercession is being made. In the human instrument, elements such as pride, selfishness, jealousy, stubbornness, have to be put to death – ‘crucified with Christ’ (Galatians 2v20), to be replaced by, ‘the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.’ (Ephesians 4v24).

God’s way for the intercessor is the way of the cross: ‘I tell you the truth, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.’ (John 12v24). The temptation to take the credit, or some of it, must fall to the ground and die. The glory is His alone.

Pain and trials result as the enemy opposes the accomplishing of God’s will. By faith and obedience, the Spirit, through His instruments, will repel and defeat every such attack. The sword of the Spirit, the word of God, is wielded and victory gained it that area. A position of victory can be established, to be applied in similar circumstances.

That which God had foretold, such as the return of the Jews from Babylon, still had to be brought forth by the identification and intercession of Daniel. The same is true for what God is wishing to bring forth in our day. It is not automatic. His purposes are actually delayed by lack of intercessors!

For Cyprus, strategically placed in the Middle East, God’s purposes for the nation and land are both towards the land of Cyprus itself, and through Cyprus for other nations, especially Israel.

May we learn what it is to be led of the Spirit – He is the senior partner - and of walking in obedience and faith, identifying as He wills. As we stand in the gap on behalf of Cyprus, the people, the needs, the situations, and on behalf of other strategic links beyond Cyprus, may each intercessor be blessed and enabled. To God be the glory!   

IFC Προετοιμασία για Pray ...... Ο ρόλος του Μεσίτρια
Ο Θεός μόδες την καρδιά του μεσίτη, ακόμη και αυτοί που προσεύχονται. Είμαστε ένα έργο σε εξέλιξη. Μεσιτείες είναι κάτι περισσότερο από προσευχή, ακόμη και πολύ έντονη προσευχή. Οποιοσδήποτε μπορεί να προσευχηθούμε θερμά, αλλά ακόμα δεν μπορεί να δεσμευτεί πλήρως να είναι υπεύθυνος, με οποιοδήποτε κόστος, για την εκπλήρωση της προσευχής. Ένας μεσίτης είναι υπεύθυνος αμετάκλητα. Υπάρχει ταύτιση με την κατάσταση ή το πρόσωπο. Η ανάγκη τους γίνεται ανάγκη του, συναντήθηκε με δικά του έξοδα. Δυστυχία τους γίνεται η travail της δικής του καρδιάς.
«Μεσιτεύσει υπέρ των ανόμων» του Κυρίου Ιησού (Ησαΐας 53v12). Ήταν «αριθμημένα με τους παραβάτες» και «Πληγώθηκε για (τους) παραβάσεις» (v5). Έχει ταυτιστεί με τους αμαρτωλούς, και πλήρωσε το χρέος που οφείλεται. «..... Έπρεπε να γίνουν σαν τους αδελφούς του με κάθε τρόπο, ώστε θα μπορούσε να γίνει ελεήμονας και πιστός αρχιερέας στην υπηρεσία του Θεού, και ότι θα μπορούσε να κάνει εξιλέωση για τις αμαρτίες των ανθρώπων. 18 Επειδή ο ίδιος υπέστη όταν είχε μπει στον πειρασμό, είναι σε θέση να βοηθήσει εκείνους που γίνονται στον πειρασμό. (Εβραίους 2v17-18).
Επειδή ο μισθός της αμαρτίας είναι θάνατος, αυτός θα έπρεπε να αγκαλιάσει το θάνατο για μας. Μεγαλωμένη στη ζωή, που μεσιτεύει για μας τώρα. «Ποιος είναι αυτός που καταδικάζει; Ιησού Χριστό, ο οποίος πέθανε-περισσότερο από αυτό, ο οποίος τέθηκε στη ζωή-είναι στα δεξιά του Θεού και είναι επίσης μεσιτεύει για μας. »(Ρωμαίους 8v34)« Ως εκ τούτου είναι σε θέση να σώσει εντελώς εκείνους που έρχονται στο Θεό μέσα από τον , επειδή ζει πάντα να μεσολαβήσει για αυτούς. »(Εβραίους 7v25)
Ο Μωυσής, ο Ιερεμίας και άλλοι προφήτες προσδιορίζονται στενά με το έθνος του Ισραήλ, όπως και η Εσθήρ, θέτοντας τη ζωή της στη γραμμή. Ωστόσο, για το μεγαλύτερο μέρος, υπήρχαν λίγα τέτοιους ανθρώπους.
«Είδε ότι δεν υπήρχε άνθρωπος, και αναρωτήθηκε ότι δεν υπήρξε μεσολαβητής.» (Ησαΐας 59v16)
«Κοίταξα για έναν άνδρα ανάμεσά τους, που θα δημιουργήσει το τείχος και να σταθεί μπροστά μου στο κενό για λογαριασμό της γης, έτσι ώστε δεν θα πρέπει να το καταστρέψει, αλλά δεν βρήκα κανέναν.» (Ιεζεκιήλ 22v30)
Σε αυτή την εξαίρεση, το Άγιο Πνεύμα είναι η αλήθεια Μεσολαβητής:
«Με τον ίδιο τρόπο, το Πνεύμα μας βοηθάει στην αδυναμία μας. Δεν ξέρουμε τι θα έπρεπε να προσευχηθούν για την, αλλά το Πνεύμα μεσιτεύει για τον εαυτό μας με βογγητά ότι οι λέξεις δεν μπορούν να εκφράσουν. 27 Και αυτός που ερευνά τις καρδιές μας γνωρίζει το φρόνημα του Πνεύματος, επειδή το Πνεύμα μεσιτεύει για τους αγίους, σύμφωνα με το θέλημα του Θεού. »(Ρωμαίους 8v26-27)
Ωστόσο, έκανε τον εαυτό περιορίζεται στην άσκηση αυτού του υπουργείου μέσω εξαργυρώνονται άνδρες και γυναίκες - που είναι ο ναός του Αγίου Πνεύματος (1 Κορ. 6v19). Ωστόσο, θα πρέπει να σβήνεται από την ένταση ή σύγκρουση μεταξύ θέλημά Του και τη δική μας. Είμαστε να είναι μια ζωντανή θυσία (Ρωμαίους 12ν1), (2 Κορ. 4v11-12).
Το Πνεύμα και το ανθρώπινο κανάλι γίνεται ολοένα και πιο εντοπιστεί, καθώς, όπως αυτοί προσδιορίζουν από κοινού με εκείνη για τους οποίους η μεσολάβηση γίνεται. Στον ανθρώπινο όργανο, στοιχεία όπως η υπερηφάνεια, ο εγωισμός, ζήλια, το πείσμα, θα πρέπει να τεθεί σε θάνατο - «σταυρώθηκαν μαζί με τον Χριστό» (Γαλάτες 2v20), για να αντικατασταθεί από «το νέο αυτό, που δημιουργήθηκε για να είναι όμοιος με τον Θεό στην αληθινή δικαιοσύνη και αγιότητα. »(Εφεσίους 4v24).
Τρόπος του Θεού για την μεσολαβητής είναι ο τρόπος του σταυρού: «Σας λέω την αλήθεια, εκτός αν ένας κόκκος του σιταριού πέφτει στο έδαφος και πεθαίνει, μένει μόνο ένας σπόρος. Αλλά αν πεθάνει, παράγει πολλούς σπόρους. »(Ιωάν. 12v24). Ο πειρασμός να λάβει την πίστωση, ή κάποια από αυτό, πρέπει να πέσει στο έδαφος και να πεθάνουν. Η δόξα είναι μόνος του.
Πόνος και δοκιμές ως αποτέλεσμα ο εχθρός αντιτίθεται στην εκπλήρωση του θελήματος του Θεού. Με πίστη και υπακοή, το Πνεύμα, με τα μέσα Του, θα αποκρούσει και να νικήσει κάθε τέτοια επίθεση. Το ξίφος του Πνεύματος, ο λόγος του Θεού, η νίκη και άρχισαν να αποκτήσει το ότι η περιοχή. Η θέση του νίκη μπορεί να αποδειχθεί, πρέπει να εφαρμόζονται σε παρόμοιες περιστάσεις.
Αυτό που ο Θεός είχε προαναγγελθεί, όπως την επιστροφή των Εβραίων από τη Βαβυλώνα, έπρεπε ακόμα να έρθουν εμπρός από τον προσδιορισμό και την μεσολάβηση του Δανιήλ. Το ίδιο ισχύει και για ό, τι ο Θεός επιθυμεί να φέρει στο προσκήνιο στις μέρες μας. Δεν είναι αυτόματη. Οι σκοποί του στην πραγματικότητα καθυστέρησε από την έλλειψη μεσολαβητές!
Για Κύπρος, στρατηγικά τοποθετημένα στη Μέση Ανατολή, τους σκοπούς του Θεού για το έθνος και η γη είναι τόσο προς τη γη της ίδιας Κύπρος, και μέσω Κύπρος για άλλα έθνη, ειδικά το Ισραήλ.
Μπορούμε να μάθουμε τι πρόκειται να οδηγήσει το Πνεύμα - Αυτός είναι ο ανώτερος συνεργάτης - και τα πόδια του στην υπακοή και την πίστη, την αναγνώριση ως βούλεται. Καθώς βρισκόμαστε στο κενό για λογαριασμό της Κύπρος, οι άνθρωποι, οι ανάγκες, οι καταστάσεις, και για λογαριασμό των άλλων στρατηγικών δεσμών πέρα ​​Κύπρος, κάθε μεσίτης μπορεί να ευλογηθεί και ενεργοποιηθεί. Προς Θεού είναι η δόξα!
